On the Administration’s Plan to Collect Social Media Information on Immigrants

Following is a statement from Christine Owens, executive director of the National Employment Law Project, in response to the Trump administration’s proposal to collect social media information on all immigrants, including legal permanent residents and naturalized citizens:

“This is yet another policy that seems to spring from the pages of a bad dystopian novel rather than one that should come from the Executive Branch of the United States of America.

“NELP stands united with all immigrants in this country, and we look forward to the sure-to-be-successful lawsuits that will challenge the constitutionality of this blatantly illegal and xenophobic proposal.”
