The National Employment Law Project (NELP) extends our deepest condolences and solidarity to the family of Breonna Taylor. Breonna’s life was precious. We felt righteous indignation over her murder at the hands of the Louisville Police Department and now at the blatant impunity after months of activism calling for accountability. The system of policing has failed Black, Indigenous, Latinx and people of color.
As an EMT, Breonna ensured people were cared for during this pandemic. Beyond her labor, Breonna Taylor was a precious and essential human being, especially to her loved ones and community. We say her name and we lift up her loved ones and those who fight for justice in Louisville and around the United States.
