In Support of Establishing a Division of Paid Care Within New York City’s Office of Labor Standards

Summary

On April 11, 2016, Sarah Leberstein testified before the New York City Council in support of Int. No. 1084 which would establish a new Division of Paid Care within the Office of Labor Standards at the Department of Consumer and Worker Protection. Staffed by a coordinator and an advocate, the Division would create and disseminate educational materials to domestic and home care workers on their rights, the services available to them, and their options for redressing workplace violations.
