Summary
On October 25, 2021, Yannet Lathrop testified before the Massachusetts Joint Committee on Labor and Workforce Development in support of H.1971 / S.1213, an Act Requiring One Fair Wage, which would gradually phase out the lower tipped wage in Massachusetts. If Massachusetts adopts a single wage floor for all workers, it would take steps towards a more equitable and fair society, and would join seven other states where tipped workers earn to the full minimum wage as their cash wage, with tips on top.
