As part of our fight for a good-jobs economy, where all workers have expansive rights, NELP submitted this comment opposing the Trump Administration’s proposed rule on the “Application of the Fair Labor Standards Act to Domestic Service.” The rule would reverse the current rule, won in 2015 after years of organizing work, that gives home care workers the right to minimum wage and overtime protections. If approved, home care workers would be labeled “companions” instead of employees and be excluded from bedrock employment rights.
Learn more about why stopping this rollback is so important in our blog explaining what’s at stake for home care workers.
