Summary
On June 15, 2016, Tsedeye Gebreselassie testified before the Baltimore City Council in support of 16-0655, which would increase Baltimore’s minimum wage to $15 and raise the subminimum wage for tipped workers, currently just $3.63 an hour. This measure will help the City’s workers meet basic needs and would follow a growing list of cities and counties across the country that have enacted or are pushing for a $15 minimum wage.
