Summary
On March 8, 2016, Sarah Leberstein testified before the Connecticut General Assembly, Committee on Labor and Public Employees in support of H.B. 5368, which would stem independent contractor abuses in the home care industry by designating certain home care registries as the employer of the home care workers they supply or refer to consumers for the purposes of workers’ compensation benefits, unemployment insurance, and wages.
