Biography

Emily Hirsch joined NELP in 2023 as Development Manager. In this role, Emily is focused on grant writing, deepening relationships with current foundation funders, and furthering NELP’s growth goals by identifying new potential prospects.

Emily’s work is informed by seven years of experience in institutional fundraising, relationship building, project management, and organizing. Prior to NELP, Emily managed foundation and government grants at Sanctuary for Families, where she was a leader in organization-wide racial equity and LGBTQ+ inclusion efforts, and a core union organizer. Emily began her career grant writing, teaching, and implementing grassroots public health projects as a Peace Corps volunteer in Zambia. Emily is committed to centering racial, economic, and gender justice in all aspects of her work. 

Emily is a member of the NELP Staff Association, NOLSW, UAW, Local 2320.
