Washington, DC—The following is a statement from Rebecca Dixon, president and CEO of the National Employment Law Project, on the passing of Lola Adedokun:
“We are devastated to learn of the loss of Lola Adedokun, a beloved NELP board member. Lola joined NELP’s board in 2021 and served as our investment committee chair, and most recently, as interim board chair. Lola’s support of and contributions to NELP were immeasurable.
“Whether as executive director of the Aspen Global Innovators Group, or through her 14 years with the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, Lola made an extraordinary impact on everyone around her and on all the lives she touched. Her commitment to fighting inequity and strengthening communities was at the center of her work. Lola was a vibrant, brilliant, and remarkable woman—she will be deeply missed. We extend our sympathies to her family as they navigate their grief and honor her legacy.”
