Curtis Lopez (he, him) joined NELP in March 2021 and brings a wealth of strategic communications experience to develop data-informed strategies that will strengthen NELP’s digital communications and outreach efforts.
Prior to joining NELP as communications manager, Curtis was multimedia and communications coordinator at The Opportunity Agenda, a social justice communications lab. Prior to that, he served as senior marketing associate at Civic Hall, a nonprofit center for learning and collaboration to advance technology for the public good. Curtis originally hails from Arizona, where he got his first experience in community organizing to help unseat Sheriff Arpaio in the 2016 Bazta Arpaio campaign.
Throughout his career, whether it be working to end poverty, advocating for youth in the foster care system, providing digital skills training to entrepreneurs in Uganda, or advancing diversity efforts in the tech and start up industry, Curtis is focused on uplifting historically marginalized communities through strategic communications and multimedia storytelling.
