Biography

Bora joined NELP as the grants manager in March 2021. She works within the development team to support grant management functions in the interest of building fundraising capacity and strengthening organizational sustainability. Her scope of work includes supporting compliance with development and finance protocols, maintaining accountability to funders, and managing a portfolio of 40+ foundation grants.

Bora’s work in this role is informed by five years of professional experience in institutional development, relationship building, and strategic planning. She is particularly interested in identifying and deconstructing outdated tendencies within standardized fundraising practices by reinterpreting these tendencies through a social justice lens, and looks to bridge any gaps between mission-based work and internal funding processes. In all aspects of her work, Bora is committed to developing systems that principally address racial and economic barriers while enabling workers to secure tangible, sustainable, and authentic power.
