Jennifer Lin joined NELP in 2017 as the organization’s California economic justice campaign manager.
Jennifer has been organizing coalitions in the student, environmental justice, and labor movements since 1998. She has several years of experience working in coalitions on policy issues at the local level, including targeted hire, raising local living and minimum wages, wage theft enforcement, economic development, and sectoral research.
Previous to NELP, Jennifer served as the deputy director at the East Bay Alliance for a Sustainable Economy (EBASE), an economic and worker justice organization in northern California. She spent 11 years at EBASE, serving as research and policy associate and research director before becoming the deputy director in 2014. While at EBASE, Jennifer led EBASE’s coalition and campaign partnerships to raise the minimum wage in four San Francisco Bay area cities, and to win the country’s third fair scheduling policy in Emeryville, CA. She also co-led community coalition efforts to ensure strong local implementation and enforcement of those policies.
While at EBASE, she was quoted in the Nation, CNN, and local print media on issues of income inequality and the impacts of local minimum wage and fair scheduling policies.
At NELP, Jennifer is a proud member of the NELP Staff Association, NOLSW, UAW, Local 2320.
