Biography

Hooman Hedayati joined NELP in January of 2017 as the worker safety and health policy analyst.

Prior to joining NELP, he served as a special assistant attorney general for the New Mexico Department of Human Services, where he represented the State of New Mexico in child support establishment and enforcement actions.

In law school, Hooman completed an externship with the Region 5 of the National Labor Relations Board and Justice Charles Daniels of the New Mexico Supreme Court. Prior to law school, he worked as a union organizer with the Service Employees International Union, and as the Texas organizer for Witness to Innocence (WTI), where he was responsible for the successful operation of WTI’s program, supporting Texas anti-death penalty organizations in efforts to reform, restrict, and repeal the death penalty.
